CHANGE FOR THE BETTER

Once upon a time, in 2017, Thitu Kariba had just found out she was pregnant. Excited and full of questions, she turned to the internet for support and advice. She stumbled upon a few online communities, but none of them quite fit what she was looking for.
So, she took a leap of faith and started her own Facebook group, the Pregnant and Nursing Moms Support Group. She began to share her pregnancy journey, her fears, and her hopes for her baby's future. And to her surprise, people began to respond and share their own experiences.
The group quickly grew, as more and more women joined in search of a community where they could find support, advice, and comfort. They shared stories of their own pregnancies and births, and formed connections that extended beyond just the online space.
As the years went by, the children grew and the group evolved. It became about more than just pregnancy and nursing, but about marriage, parenting, home, wellness, and so much more. And with that evolution, the group rebranded to Tunza Family Support Group.
The mission remained the same - to create a safe space to educate and inform members so that they could make informed decisions and become the best caregivers they could be. But now, the focus was on nurturing and sustaining the African family unit, one home at a time.
Members of Tunza Family Support Group came from all walks of life, from different countries and cultures, but they were all united by their desire to support and uplift one another. They shared their triumphs and struggles, their joys and sorrows, and found comfort in knowing that they were not alone.
As the group continued to grow, Thitu and her team of admins worked tirelessly to keep the community safe and positive. They moderated discussions, provided resources, and ensured that everyone felt welcome and heard.
And through it all, Tunza Family Support Group continued to be a beacon of hope and love for families across the continent. It was a place where people could come together to share their experiences, learn from one another, and grow as caregivers and human beings.
Years from now, when the children of the Tunza Family Support Group have grown up and started families of their own, they will look back on their time in the group with fondness and gratitude. For it was here that they found a community that truly cared, and a family that they could always count on.
